An audit report released this week by the State Legislative Auditor's Office revealed that the former executive director of the Fenton Housing Authority, Gwen Jackson, took $34,000 in Authority money between March 31st and September 20th, 2017 for personal use.

State auditors found that Jackson issued and negotiated 52 unauthorized checks which include extra payroll checks to herself and other FHA employees, as well as family members for which no services were performed.

The audit breaks down each dollar amount of the unauthorized checks and how they were used.

Jackson resigned from her job after being confronted by two Authority board members about the checks.
