A motorcyclist is in serious condition after being knocked from his motorcycle and run over three separate times on LA 94 in Breaux Bridge.

A spokesman with Louisiana State Police Troop I says the motorcyclist was traveling on the highway toward Lafayette around 10:30 p.m. when a maroon vehicle, said to be an Oldsmobile, made a lefthand turn in front of the motorcyclist into a casino parking lot.

The driver of the motorcycle attempted to avoid the Oldsmobile but struck the rear of the right side of the vehicle.

The driver was then ejected from his motorcycle, and the Oldsmobile fled, the spokesman says. While the motorcyclist attempted to crawl off of the roadway, he was run over by an unknown vehicle, which also fled.

The motorcyclist continued to travel along the roadway from impact and was struck by a third vehicle, but the state police spokesman says the driver of this vehicle stopped to assist the victim.

The drivers of the Oldsmobile and the second vehicle have not been identified.
