A teenager is facing a second-degree murder charge following a shooting yesterday afternoon in Sulphur.

Seventeen-year-old Blake Poullard, of Lake Charles, is accused of shooting 24-year-old David Reed III, of Sulphur, before fleeing the scene, according to Sulphur Police Chief Lewis Coats.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Post Oak Road at 1 p.m. in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered Reed suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transferred to West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital where he later died.
