Westlake Police asking for help in robbery

Posted: Updated:

The Westlake Police Department is asking for help in identifying two men who robbed a Whitney Bank.

The robbery happened on October 12 at about 10:30 a.m., a spokesman said.

Two men entered the bank and demanded money from the tellers. While one suspect was at the counter, a second went through an employee's purse and stole the keys to her car, which the two men then used as a getaway vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered a short distance away, police say.

The men were 5 feet 5 inches tall and 5 feet 8 inches tall, slender to medium build.

One was wearing a white, long-sleeve shirt and a black hoodie, dark blue or black jeans, possibly Dickie brand, along with dark blue or black Chucks and a dark-colored ball cap that might have a Realtree emblem on the front. He also was wearing dark colored safety or sun glasses, thick leather work or welding gloves, and a green paisley print cloth covering his face and neck.

The other was wearing red long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, dark-colored tennis shoes, a camo ball cap, dark safety or sun glasses, and a dark colored paisley print cloth covering his face and neck.

They were armed with a semi-automatic handgun, and were last seen walking west on St. John Bosco Street.

After a few minutes, the video shows a dark colored GMC or Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck, possibly an early 2000 model, driving east toward Sampson Street, in the area where the suspects parked the stolen vehicle.

Any information about the suspects or the truck is sought. If you have information, you can call:
