Incident during Angola Rodeo under investigation

Posted: Updated:

The West Feliciana Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident involving an inmate and a juvenile in the bathroom together during the last weekend of the Angola rodeo, our media partners at The Advocate report.

West Feliciana Sheriff Austin Daniel told the Advocate that deputies learned of the incident while they were already patrolling at the rodeo Oct. 29.

The Advocate reports that inmate involved in the incident and under investigation is Laderrick Davis, said West Feliciana Sheriff's spokeswoman Erin Foster. Davis is serving a life sentence for second-degree murder. He was convicted in Caddo Parish, said Department of Correction's spokesman Ken Pastorick.

Daniel said they have collected and submitted evidence to the State Police crime lab. They are waiting on the results from any forensic tests before they proceed with the investigation, he said.
