According to Major Wendell Raborn, the 55-year-old male victim was in a home in the 1200 block of Oil Center Drive when he was attacked, with what he believed was a machete.  Deputies received a call around 2:30 p.m. on Monday after the victim drove himself to Iberia Medical Center.

Several items were stolen from the victim by the unknown suspect.
