One of the two people found dead from an apparent murder-suicide at a residence in East Baton Rouge Parish has been identified as a Lafayette resident.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call in the 17000 block of Wax Road in Central, La at around 6:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found two people dead inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds.

Officials say that the shooting was a domestic murder/suicide in which the male, identified as 31-year-old Larry Warino Jr., shot and killed a female victim, identified as 24-year-old Alyssa Kanouse, before shooting himself.

Sources within the Louisiana Legislature have confirmed that Warino was the legislative aide of state Rep. Stuart Bishop, R-Lafayette.
