No one injured in St. Martinville fire

No one was injured in an early morning fire in St. Martinville.

Firefighters with the Evangeline Fire Dept in St. Martinville were dispatched to Evangeline Street around 5:30 am, according to Chief Mark Breaux, Evangeline Fire Dept. in St. Martinville. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed with fire.

Firefighters were told two people may be inside the home, but after further investigation, it was determined that no one was home at the time of the fire, said Breaux.

Parks Fire Dept., Catahoula Fire Dept. along with firefighters from the district office assisted in putting out the fire. 

Breaux said it took about 45 minutes to extinguish the fire.
