The lock down at Northside High School has been lifted.

Lafayette Police spokesman Karl Ratcliff says Northside High School was placed on lock down at 7:15 a.m. due to a large fight that broke out across campus. The fight was brought under control by police shortly after arriving on scene. A taser that was allegedly used in the fight by a student was reported to be on campus. Police kept the school on lock down while officers searched the premises. The taser was not located.

Ratcliff says that several arrests are expected to be made.

Lafayette Parish School System CAO Joe Craig, confirmed this morning with KATC about the lock down at Northside High School. Craig said it was due to a possible taser on campus and did not allude to the fight earlier in the morning.
