Suspects wanted in Breaux Bridge shooting

Authorities are searching for suspects in connection with a shooting last night in Breaux Bridge. 

Shortly after 9:00 p.m., St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to the 1200 block of Melvin Dupuis Road after receiving a report of shots being fired in the area.

Upon arrival, deputies were able to locate the residence where the shooting occurred, but no one was there.

Investigation revealed a weapon had been discharged multiple times at the home, according to a spokeswoman with the sheriff's office. 

Later, deputies were notified that two men were treated at a local hospital for nonlife-threatening gunshot wounds. They were later released.

Investigators have confirmed there were at least two suspects involved. At this time, deputies are only able to provide information about one of the suspects, who is described as being a black male with short hair, wearing an unknown type of ball cap.
