Family and friends of Daisy Lynn Landry gathered at Don's Automotive to raise funds for continued search efforts.
Daisy Lynn's mother spoke of memories of her daughter, but the family is still seeking answers about her disappearance. "She was always in some type of turmoil inside, and we don't know why she was, but now she is at least free."
Vendors and supporters also came out to help the family raise money. There were a jambalaya cook-off and a silent auction that took place as well.
Daisy Lynn's oldest sister spoke about how the family is holding up and how where they are in current search efforts. "It's been five very long months, and we are hanging in there the best we can, just like any other family that may have a missing child. She's our sister, my parents' daughter, my children's aunt, and it's rough. We are making it day by day. The days do get harder because we still don't have the answers."
The money raised at the event will go toward continued search crews and funeral expenses when the time comes.
