Disc jockey and Iberia native Derrick Troy Broussard dies

Local radio and Iberia Parish native DJ Derrick Troy "master Gee" Broussard has died. He was 52 years old. 

Funeral arrangements have been set for Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Saint Edwards Church in New Iberia. 

Broussard is known around the radio as Master Gee was a well-known disc jockey in Acadiana. According to his obituary, Broussard began his career at KJBC 770 AM in Lafayette. Following that, he also worked at 106.3 FM, Magic 104.7 FM and FOXY 107.9. 

Broussard hosted a Battle of the DJ's competition each year and owned KBGW Radio Station in New Iberia. 

He leaves behind a wife, two daughters and five sons along with numerous other family members. 

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 7:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with a rosary recited at 10:00 a.m.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home 609 West Admiral Doyle Drive New Iberia, Louisiana 70560.
