St. Landry Parish Household Hazardous Waste Day

St. Landry Parish Household Hazardous Waste Day will be held tomorrow, Saturday, November 4, from 8 am to 5 pm. Two recycling centers will be open in the parish so that residents can drop off any hazardous materials. 2717 West Landry in Opelousas and 450 North C C Duson in Eunice will be open for accepting items.

This waste day will only apply to those who currently reside in the Parish of St. Landry. Businesses, farms, and commercial operators will not be permitted to drop off items. The collection will be for households only.

The following items will be accepted:

PAINTS - AUTOMOBILE BATTERIES - MOTOR OIL - ANTIFREEZE - HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS - PESTICIDES - FLAMMABLES - CORROSIVES - MEDICATIONS TIRES (LIMIT 5 PER PERSON) - FLUORESCENT TUBES AND BULBS - OTHER HAZARDOUS HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS
ELECTRONIC WASTE (COMPUTERS, MONITORS, PRINTERS, SCANNERS, ETC.)
CELL PHONES AND CELL PHONE BATTERIES

Waste Day organizers STRONGLY state that they WILL NOT be accepting any form of  infectious and medical wastes, biological and radioactive materials, compressed gas cylinders, ammunition, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors or explosives
