Southern University police investigating pellet gun shooting incidents

Southern University is warning students of a possible incident involving pellet guns where at least three received minor injuries, WBRZ reports. 

The school reports that on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, police were notified that a student had received a minor injury as a result of a being shot by a pellet gun. This incident occurred in the North Campus residential area SUPD were also notified of two other incidents where students received minor injuries under similar circumstances. 

The second incidents also happened in the same residential area, according to police.

As a result of these incidents, the school says that it has stepped up patrols around campus to ensure the safety of students. 

SU Police is urging students to report any suspicious behavior and additional information to SUPD at 225-771-2770.
