Early voting begins Nov. 3 because of Veterans Day observances

Posted: Updated:

Secretary of State Tom Schedler announced that early voting for the November 18 Special Treasurer/Municipal General Election will begin on Friday, Nov. 3 because of Veterans Day observances the following week.

According to Schedler's office:

Pushing up the date to the Nov. 3 will allow voters to get their ballots in without losing a day. The Secretary also reminds voters that they can dedicate their vote to a current or former soldier who served through the "Honor Vets...Vote!" program. The turnout for voting is expected to be low due to historical data.

All eligible Louisiana voters can begin casting their ballots on Friday, Nov. 3 and continue until Saturday, Nov. 11. Times for voting during this period starts and 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Voting, as noted, will not be held on Sunday, Nov. 5 or Friday, Nov. 10.

Citizens may early vote at their parish Registrar of Voters Office or other designated locations. Find your location here.

Voters may download the GeauxVote Mobile app to find out where to early vote.
