Taco Festival kicks off tomorrow at Moncus Park in Lafayette

Posted: Updated:

Tomorrow, the Taco Festival will make it's debut at Moncus Park in Lafayette. The Taco Festival, however, isn't a Lafayette centric festival. The festival originated in Arizona as a 2-day, 40,000 person event, and this year after the festival's conclusion, organizers decided it was time to take the festivities on tour.

Lafayette is the last stop for this year's Taco Festival "Taco Tour" and it all begins tomorrow, Saturday, October 28 from 12 pm to 6 pm at Moncus Park at the Horse Farm. Fifteen restaurants are competing this weekend, slinging out their best $2 tacos for everyone to enjoy. Drinks like margaritas, beer, water and sodas will be available. Lucha Libre wrestling and a Chihuahua beauty pageant are just a sample of the entertainment scheduled for the day.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate for $14. Included in that price are 2 free tacos and a margarita. More information on the Taco Festival can be found online at thetacofestival.com
