Posted: Updated:

The 10th Annual Festival of Words Arts Collective kicks off on Thursday, November 2 at Nunu's in Arnaudville at 6:30 p.m. There will be poetry reading and African drumming. The festival continues on Friday with workshops for youth happening throughout the day at different locations around town. The festival will conclude on Saturday at the main stage in Grand Coteau where the community is welcomed to join in and experience the power of poetry.

The festival is free and open to the public. For more information on the festival and it's itinerary visit them online at festivalofwords.org or on their Facebook page.

Festival of words is a literary organization that works to expose the community to the literary arts. Past festivals have brought in poets and word smiths from places like Haiti and France, as well as across the nation. The festival is also extremely proactive in holding workshops for students on how to express themselves through the art of words.
