Body found in Acadia Parish Bayou identified

The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office has identified the body recovered from Bayou Blanc on Friday, October 20 just west of Crowley. The body was found between I-10 and the Pontoon Bridge near Estherwood.

Sheriff K.P. Gibson says that the body has been identified as that of 40 year old Archie Burns. Burns, according to the sheriff, was homeless and had been in the Crowley area for only a short period of time. Burns was originally from Dallas, Texas. Mr. Burns' family has been notified. 

Sheriff Gibson says that an autopsy was performed and that there are no signs of foul play. The department is currently waiting on toxicology reports.
