Animal Aid for Vermilion Area is asking for the public to lace up their best boogie shoes and Dance for Dogs (and Cats).
The non-profit animal rescue will be holding their dancing event at Cowboys Nightclub in Scott on November 5, 2017. The group is raising funds for the upkeep of their facilities along with making sure that all animals have the necessary medications and food.
"We need help! Vetting and feeding the animals gets expensive before we get them adopted out," says AAVA event organizer Brand Collins.
Dance for Dogs (and Cats) begins on November 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Music, food, auctions, door prizes and a raffle will be available for those that attend. A fun jump will also be available for kids.
AAVA will also bring by adoptable dogs so that the public can see those pets that need a furever home.
All proceeds will go towards vet bills, food, and shelter for AAVA.
You may remember Animal Aid for Vermilion Parish after two groups of dogs were rescued and adopted this year. The Vermilion Dozen were all adopted out and saved from euthanization in August of this year thanks to people in the community.
In June, 10 dogs were saved from euthanization at the shelter. One of KATC's own employees adopted a beautiful dog from the shelter.
