Prayer Blanket Ministry asking for volunteers, donations

Posted: Updated:

The Prayer Blanket Ministry, part of the First Baptist Church of Lafayette, is looking for volunteers to help bring healing and recovery those those in Acadiana who may be battling an illness. Each blanket made by the campaign is tied with ribbons which represent a prayer given, healing received. 570 blankets were made over the church's first year of blanket production. Organizers hope this year will be even more successful.

The Church is currently looking for volunteers to help with the production of these blankets. Volunteers meet each Thursday from 9 am to 3 pm at the First Baptist Church of Lafayette. Each blanket is made with purchased materials made possible by generous donations from members of the community. Blanket requests can be made for anyone, regardless of religion, who needs healing and recovery through prayer.

Those who would like to donate money or usable materials, volunteer, or request that a special prayer blanket be made can contact the church office at (337) 233-1412 and leave a message.

Those interested can also find more information at the Prayer Blanket Ministry's Facebook page and online at fbclaf.org/adults.
