Friends of the Humanities to host screening of "The Cajun Navy" film at the Lite Center

Friends of the Humanities will be hosting a screening of the film "The Cajun Navy" directed by Allan Durand on Sunday, October 22 at 2:00 pm at the Lite Center in Lafayette.

The film focuses on the events that occurred after Hurricane Katrina when The Cajun Navy was first formed as an impromptu search and rescue group. The film screening will take place in the theater located at the Lite Center. 

After the screening there will be a question and answer session available with the Allan Durand who directed, wrote, and produced the film. Directly after the question and answer session there will be a reception with a live Cajun band with gumbo, jambalaya, and drinks served.

Some members of the Cajun Navy will also be attending the screening. All funds will go to collecting classroom materials for professors at UL Lafayette.

Tickets are $25 dollars for the public and $10 dollars for UL students with a valid student ID.
