Iota woman turns 106 years young

CROWLEY, La. -

An Iota woman celebrated her 106th birthday on Monday.

Cecilia Miller Young was born on October 18, 1911, in Iota to Jochin Miller and Ozia Thibodeaux. 

She was married to Duclide Young (deceased 2000) and had one daughter Cecilia Young Hearod, (deceased 2004).

Cecilia has three grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She retired from the Acadia Parish School Board in 1969 after 26 years as a cafeteria employee.
