Driver arrested in school bus crash

State Police have arrested a woman and accused her of texting and driving in Friday's school bus crash.

Savana Savely, 18, of Lafayette has been booked into LPCC with reckless operation, negligent injuring, texting while driving and no seat belt. 

She was the driver of a pick-up truck that slammed into a motorcycle and then a school bus on Friday near Mire Elementary.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified by state police as Savely's boyfriend, sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital, state police said. 

Several children on the bus also were injured and transported to local hospitals. 

Investigators say Savely never even slowed down before she hit the motorcycle. she sustained minor injuries.
