LPAE to hold discussion on standardized testing tonight at the Lafayette Library's Main Branch

Posted: Updated:

Lafayette Parish Association of Educators is holding a discussion tonight, October 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Lafayette Parish Library Main Branch in Downtown Lafayette to discuss the quality of education in public schools dealing specifically with standardized testing.

The discussion is open to all students, parents, teachers, and administrators wanting to share their experiences and input on the quality and best practices of standardized testing in Lafayette.  The discussion will be civil in nature and organizers are asking those that attend to bring both positive and negative feedback, as well as ideas to the discussion.

The input gathered at the session will be included with feedback on standardized testing from across the state published and sent to Governor John Bel Edwards and the Education Department of Louisiana. The published feedback and recommendations will also be available for the community to view.
