After five years, the 15th Judicial District Attorney has convicted Jarrett Andrews in the 2012 slaying of Nathaniel Travon Wiltz.

Andrews was convicted by a jury this week on a charge of second-degree murder.

The incident happened on October 13, 2012 in Iota. Acadia Parish Sheriff's deputies were called to John Circle, where they found Wiltz, who had been shot and killed. Deputies were looking for Andrews almost immediately in the crime.

Detective Dennis Fruge investigated the case, and Assistant District Attorney Scott Privat and Assistant District Attorney Burleigh Doga prosecuted the case.
