Great Weather for the Rest of the Week

Posted: Updated:

A dry weather pattern will continue for the rest of the week. Sunny skies can be expected early in the day with sun and clouds mixed by the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to be warm, but humidity levels should remain on the comfortable side through today. Over the weekend, we'll see the humidity levels starting to increase and temperatures will be near 90 degrees. Records over the weekend are in the lower 90s, so those could be threatened. New Iberia might have a chance to tie a record high today as afternoon temperatures are expected to run in the upper 80s. Today's record for New Iberia is 89 set back in 2014.

This evening the Ragin' Cajuns football game against Texas State should be fine. It'll be a little warm for tailgating, but humidity will be in check. Temperatures should be in the lower 80s by kickoff and in the mid 70s by the end of the game.

A front is expected to push toward the area Sunday, then pass through late in the day. Ahead of the front, expect warm and muggy conditions. Although there won't be a lot of moisture for the front to work with, we'll keep a 20% chance for widely scattered showers Sunday afternoon and evening. Once the front pushes through, expect wind to turn northerly, and normal October weather should be in place for most of next week. Expect highs Monday to drop into the lower 80s with night time lows back in the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Normal highs and lows for next week are around 80 and 60. Dry weather should remain for most of next week.
