United Way's 2017 BOOgie Ball set for Oct 28

The United Way's BOOgie Ball dinner, dance, and auction will be held on Saturday, October 28 at the Historic Delta Grand Theater in Opelousas. The "spook-tacular event" is put on every year to benefit the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way. The Ball begins at 7:00 p.m. and the fun lasts until 11:00 p.m.

The event is a costume party and fundraiser for the United Way and their support of 20 other non-profit organizations throughout the parish. Funds received will go towards organizations who meet the following community needs: hunger, financial instability, emergency needs, illiteracy, access to health care and prescription medication, the elderly and disabled, crime, teen pregnancy, domestic violence and many more. 

Guests can enjoy live music, an auction featuring items from around the world, and catering from several local restaurants including a Cochon de Lait from Cafe Josephine.
