A Hayes man has been arrested, accused of stabbing another man after an alleged altercation at his home.

Calcasieu Parish Deputies say they were dispatched to a report of a stabbing on September 13, 2017, on Wilson Street in Hayes. An investigation revealed that the victim had allegedly been stabbed by the suspect 42-year-old Leroy P. Guidry. Detectives say the victim arrived at Guidry's home with a friend of Guidry's. At that time, an alleged physical altercation started and, according to a press release, Guidry stabbed the victim several times.

Detectives say they do not believe Guidry and the victim previously knew each other.

Guidry was arrested at his home by CPSO deputies and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with attempted second-degree murder. His bond is set at $250,000.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.
