UPDATE: Sister booked with murder; deputies say boyfriend not involved

St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies have booked a Breaux Bridge woman on murder and feticide charges in connection with the stabbing death of an Arnaudville woman.

Toni Trimble Thomas, 32, was booked with second-degree murder and second-degree feiticide in connection with the stabbing death of Ashley Nichole Meche, who was eight months pregnant. her body was found last night. 

Deputies were looking for Thomas and her brother, Mark Trimble, who was Meche's boyfriend. They found them both this morning. He had been at the victim’s home earlier in the day; however, he was not present or involved in the homicide, deputies say. No motive for the homicide has been established.

Following her arrest, Thomas she was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges. At the time of this release, no bond had been set.

Two people wanted in connection with the murder of a pregnant woman have been apprehended. Deputies say they have not been arrested. 

Yesterday, St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies said they were looking for Mark Trimble, 29, and his sister, Toni Trimble Thomas, in connection with the death of an Arnaudville woman. 

Ashley Nicole Meche, who was eight months pregnant, was found stabbed to death last night. Her baby also died, deputies say. 

Today, Mark Trimble, identified as Meche's boyfriend, was found in the Loreauville area. Toni Trimble was found in the Bayou Fuselier area of St. Martin Parish. 

The cause of death has been determined to be a stabbing and the investigation remains ongoing.
