UPDATE: Norris Greenhouse Jr. will serve his week-long jail sentence in Jackson Parish.

Greenhouse, who reported to the Avoyelles Parish jail on Monday for violating his bail conditions, was transferred for safety reasons, Sheriff Doug Anderson said on Tuesday.

Because Greenhouse is a former police officer, "he probably has enemies in our jail," Anderson said.

"For safety reasons, we sent him to a place where nobody knows him," Anderson said.

The sheriff said office will transport Greenhouse back to Avoyelles at 2 p.m. Monday.

Original story, Sept. 11. Norris Greenhouse Jr. reported to the Avoyelles Parish jail Monday for a week-long sentence

Greenhouse is to serve seven days after he left the state without giving notification.

He is one of the two Marksville Deputy City Marshals charged with the murder of 6-year-old Jeremy Mardis and the attempted murder of his father Chris Few.

He was out on a million dollar bond and under house arrest. The judge had given him permission to leave as long as he gave notification, according to KALB.

But Greenhouse took a trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands without alerting anyone.

A hearing was held on Friday to see if Greenhouse's bail should not be revoked.

Because Greenhouse has been to all court appearances Judge Bennett did not revoke his bail and sentenced him to seven days in jail.
