LPSS raises over $20,000 for Hurricane Harvey victims

LAFAYETTE, La. -

The Lafayette Public School System has raised funds for Hurricane Harvey victims with a jeans day for schools. 

The voluntary jeans day held on Friday, August 8, 2017, was an opportunity for teacher and students to assist in relief efforts in Texas. 

Across the parish, LPSS was able to raise $21,251.76. Funds will be sent to the United Way for those recovering from the storm.
