DUSON, La. -

Today, Duson police arrested a burglary suspect with an extensive criminal history, spanning over 30 years.

Fifty-four-year-old Perry Robinson is accused of burglarizing a house and vehicle in two separate locations in Duson between Friday and Saturday.

According to police, a resident in the 300 block of E Street says he saw Robinson jump the fence of his neighbor's yard and run toward Second Street around 9 p.m. Friday. The complainant further stated that his neighbor was hospitalized, and the intruder was not authorized to be on the property.  Family members of the neighbor reported an iPhone 6 and a camera were stolen from inside the home.

Amid investigation, Duson police officers and Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies were able to confirm Robinson resides on Second St.

Duson Police Chief Kip Judice says Robinson had confessed to family members that he had broken into the home.

On Saturday, a resident in the 300 block of Ave. Au Nord reported his truck was burglarized of money, tools and some other items. The complainant also reported that Robinson had visited their home early Saturday morning, attempting to sell a camera lens similar to the one reported stolen on the previous night.

Duson police located Robinson just before noon on Saturday. Chief Judice says Robinson was in possession of the stolen camera and miscellaneous items stolen from the truck.

Robinson requested an attorney when asked about his involvement in the two cases.

The suspect was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail on one count of burglary and one count of possession of stolen things.
