Louisiana Women's Soccer Hit The Road To Start 2017 Season

Posted: Updated:

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's women's soccer team kicks off their 2017 regular season with a pair of road trips to Big 12 school Baylor on Friday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m., followed by a trip to the Southland Conference's Lamar on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m.
The two matches are part of a three-match road trip to start the 2017 campaign, with the Ragin' Cajuns heading to McNeese next weekend on Aug. 25, before returning to Lafayette to host their first SEC opponent not named LSU, in the form of Ole Miss on Aug. 27.
The Cajuns have never won against Baylor, with their overall record being 0-3-0.  And this is their first trip to Waco, Texas since they lost to the Bears 2-0 on Aug. 31, 2007.
Baylor is the first venture into the Big 12 since the Cajuns hosted Baylor back on Sep. 6, 2009, and Louisiana will be looking for their first win against a Big 12 opponent with an all-time record against Big 12 schools of 0-7-0.
On Sunday, the Cajuns head to Lamar looking to repeat the success they had against the Lady Cardinals last season when they won 4-1 in Lafayette on Sep. 2, 2016.
Louisiana is making the trip to Beaumont, Texas for the first time since Sep. 7, 2008 where they won against the Lady Cardinals 3-1.  And all-time the Cajuns are 4-0-0 against Lamar, while holding a winning record of 31-23-5 overall against Southland schools.
Live stats will be available for both games through each schools' website.  The Baylor match can be found at http://www.baylorbears.com/, while the Lamar match can be followed at http://www.lamarcardinals.com/
