LAFAYETTE, La. -

It's been nearly six decades since Cal's Western Store opened its doors to the residents of Lafayette. But now, it's time to say 'goodbye.'

Cal and Ella Mae Gautreau opened the Johnston Street store in 1959, which sold western apparel and items.

For the past 38 years, the Gautreau sons, along with their spouses, managed the store to continue to bring Lafayette all their western needs.

Cal's Western Store will reopen for its liquidation sale on Thursday, August 17.
