ACADIA PARISH, La. -

The Village of Estherwood will be receiving another upgrade.

DOTD announced plans to replace the often-flooded Pontoon Bridge with a more permanent structure since electrical components were damaged during recent flooding.

"So right now, the bigger issue is identifying the funding to do an actual replacement of the structure, but again, it's not a structurally deficient bridge, and it is safe for the traveling public," says Deidra Duilhert, spokeswoman for DOTD.
