LAFAYETTE, La. -

Lafayette Firefighters were on the scene of a house fire late Thursday night near Ridge Road. 

Officials say the home is located in the 900 Block of Ridge Road near Colorado Road caught fire around 9:00 p.m. Thursday. Several fire departments Lafayette, Duson, and Scott Fire Departments responded to a house fire.

Upon arrival, heavy smoke was seen coming from the home. The fire was concentrated mainly in the attic. 

The occupants were not home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters from all three departments fought the fire for approximately an hour before getting it under control. The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage throughout.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
