Abbeville man arrested on child porn charges

Three men including one from Abbeville have been arrested on more than 100 counts of child pornography.  

According to Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, 25-year-old Chaz Maturin of Abbeville was one of three men arrested in the case. Maturin was arrested on eight counts of sexual abuse images and/or videos of children and three counts of sexual abuse images and/or videos of children(under the age of 13). 

Maturin was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail as a fugitive from Vermilion Parish. His arrest was part of a joint investigation between the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit, HSI, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office and the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office. 

Two others were arrested in Rapides Parish and Tangipahoa Parish, according to the release. 

Christopher Duverge, 22 of Bronx, New York, was arrested on 80 counts of sexual abuse images and/or videos of children (under the age of 13). He was arrested and booked into the Rapides Parish Jail. Duverge is an active member of the U.S. Army and was on approved military leave at this time of his arrest. He was stationed in Louisiana when the alleged crimes occurred. 

Kyle Ermis, 25 of Ponchatoula, was arrested on 24 counts of distribution of sexual abuse images and/or videos of children and six counts of possession of sexual abuse images and/or videos of children. He was arrested and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
