The doors of Southside High School in Youngsville opened today for students, faculty and Staff.

All of the 674 students entering the halls of Southside High School this year will start a year of firsts traditions that will carry on for years to come.

As each seat is taken, each stairway stepped on, the excitement of what the new school year will bring fills the air.

"It should be fun and interviewing and more effective as well. This building belongs to them and this community. Everyone is excited about this opening." says Superintendent Dr. Donald Aguillard.

From a coffee shop to open library and fishbowl classrooms, Southside High is bringing Lafayette Parish into the 21st century and giving students another reason to get excited about learning.
