Another arrest has been made for Medicaid fraud in Jeanerette.

According to the Louisiana Attorney General's office, King Ellis, 33, of Jeanerette, was arrested on four charges of medicaid fraud. Ellis allegedly submitted time sheets at Jaba Enterprises for services not rendered.

Jeanerette Mayor Aprill Foulcard is one of four registered agents with the company, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.

Attorney General Jeff Landry’s office made the arrest. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish jail.

Ellis pleaded guilty in March to vehicular homicide in connection with a crash that killed a recent high school graduate.

In May 2015, Ellis was arrested after a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 90. Ellis was booked with vehicular homicide and accused of driving drunk and on the wrong way on U.S. 90.

Jordan Prince, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

According to records at the Iberia Parish Courthouse, Ellis was given credit for time served since his arrest in 2015. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with seven suspended. Five years of his sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

He was in jail in Iberia Parish for that charge when he was arrested today for the Medicaid fraud charge.
