The newest French Immersion program in Louisiana is seeking help for its teachers.

The Evangeline Parish School System is opening a French Immersion program at Ville Platte and Mamou elementary schools this fall. They've hired three teachers who will be arriving from France this month, according to a Facebook post on the Cajun French Virtual Table Francaise.

Part of the school system's responsibility to these teachers is to help them find a place to live and helping them settle in. Furniture is needed to help furnish their apartments, according to the post.

Needed items include couches and chairs, and kitchen tables and chairs.

Anyone who would like to help can call Mike Lombas at 363-0042 or 363-6654.
