JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH, La. -

Jeff Davis Parish Deputies arrested a man after he admitted to abandoning a litter of kittens.

Deputies charged 63-year-old Morris Lee Williams of Kinder with 5 counts of animal cruelty after deputies noticed his vehicle stopped on the side of the roadway near Grey Bluff road and LA 383.

When questioned about whether he was dumping garbage or trespassing on property, officers say Williams admitted to dumping the kittens nearby. Deputies went with Williams to the dumping location and recovered 5 kittens. Williams was booked into the Jeff Davis Parish jail.

According to Chief Deputy Chris Ivey, deputies have found homes for all five of the kittens.
