JENNINGS, La. -

Crime is at the lowest level in a decade in Jennings.

According to Police Chief Todd D'albor, numbers from the first half of this year are better than they were in 2012 when the city was named one of the safest in the state.

While Chief D'albor praises his officers for tackling crime in the area, he believes positive community influences also helped.

"When we came into this and had a vision for our department, it was to make sure that we worked hand and hand with our community, and that partnership has taken us to these heights," said D'albor.
