Passport fair planned at Post Office

LAFAYETTE LA -

The Lafayette Main Post Office will host a passport fair to help residents get their passport.

The event will be July 15 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the main post office on Moss Street. 

To apply for a passport, you need a certified copy of your birth certificate, a valid photo ID (like a driver's license) and a passport photo, sized two inches by two inches.

You can get your photo at the fair. Passport fees are $110 for people aged 16 years or older, and $80 for people aged 16 years or younger. For people younger than 16 years, both parents must be present, have valid ID. 

The fee must be paid by check or money order made payable to the Department of State.  

Execution fees are $25 and must be paid by check or money order made payable to the U.S. Postal Service. 

If you want a photo, that costs $15, also by check or money order made payable to the U.S. Postal Service.
