Last month, Ryan Seacrest announced via his Twitter account that American Idol has added four more open call auditions. Due to the effects of Hurricane Harvey, two of those locations have been canceled.

Those locations announced in July were as follows:

  • Houston, TX - September 2 (canceled)
  • San Antonio, TX - September 4 (canceled)
  • Fargo, ND - September 6
  • Rapid City, SD - September 10

Auditions in Louisiana will be held in Shreveport on September 14th when the show's West coast bus tour rolls through the state. Another open audition will be held in New Orleans Louisiana on the same date. That information can be viewed below.

American Idol is coming back to television for a new season and producers are looking for talent from 19 different cities across the country.

One of those stops scheduled will be in Shreveport, Louisiana, as the "Idol Bus" makes its way around the country. The signing competition show is also  holding open city auditions in New Orleans. Those details will be released at a later date.

The search for the next superstar kicks off August 17, 2017.  The series, coming to ABC Entertainment, is also taking to the internet, offering hopefuls the opportunity to submit audition videos online at www.americanidol.com or by showing off their talent via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Musical.ly using the hashtag #TheNextIdol.
