Man and dog saved from capsized boat on Lake Pontchartrain

NEW ORLEANS, La. -

A man and his dog are safe after being rescued from their boat on Lake Pontchartrain. 

Coast Guard crews say they responded to the vessel which was taking on water near Highway 11 Bridge and the I-10 Twin Span Bridge in New Orleans at around 10:30 a.m. When crews arrived the vessel began to capsize and the occupants, a  man and a dog, fell in to the water. 

The man was recovered at about 11:00 a.m. And transported him to Eden Isle Marina. Coast Guard officials report that the dog was picked up by a good Samaritan and transported to shore.
