CHALMETTE, La. (AP) - A man and woman have been arrested after authorities say they found more than $17,000 in heroin and crack cocaine at a Chalmette home.

News outlets report 33-year-old Chris Wells and 32-year-old Ashli Martin have been arrested Tuesday on multiple offenses including possession of heroin and crack with the intent to distribute.

St. Bernard Parish Sheriff James Pohlmann says the federal Drug Enforcement Administration the New Orleans Police Department and the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff executed a search warrant. Pohlmann say they found three ounces of heroin worth about $8,340 at the home. Additionally, authorities seized more than 45 grams of crack with a worth of $9,060 and a stolen handgun.

It's unclear if either Wells or Martin has an attorney.
