Festival on Wheels, Cycle Zydeco, traveling through S. Louisiana

YOUNGSVILLE, La. -

Bicycle tires are hitting the pavement as part of the 5 day Cycle Zydeco event. 

Known as the festival on wheels, the four day casual riding tour is currently making its way through South Louisiana. Thursday April 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. cyclists were traveling through Sugar Mill Pond in Youngsville. 

Festival planners say they event pulls in bicyclists and tourists looking to experience the area and see the sights. Some participants, organizers say, have been a part of this cycling event for 10 years and the average age for riders is 65. 

Riders signed up for the event on Wednesday April 19, 2017 and began the trek Thursday morning. The event is more than just cycling, participants have the chance to explore towns in South Louisiana, taking part in local activities.
