Familiar Looking Forecast

Posted: Updated:

There are some things that never change, and the weather during late spring and summer in south Louisiana seems to be one of those things that never really changes.

Thursday's forecast should look familiar to anyone who has spent about five minutes in south Louisiana with a standard summer pattern in full effect across the state.

The highs later Thursday afternoon will sit in the mid 80s with enough humidity to drive the heat index a little warmer then that, especially out in the sun where you can't catch a breeze.

A few showers and thunderstorms will be popping up after lunch on Thursday, although they should be clearing out by the evening and leading to another quiet overnight.

Saturday will be the next change we get in the forecast with a cold front moving through late Saturday afternoon providing some widely scattered showers and a few thunderstorms.

This will usher in a cool period with plenty of sunshine and temperatures that will struggle to get out of the 70s in the afternoon and lows that will even push into the low 50s.
