In Acadia Parish, John Stefanski won his bid to replace long-time state Representative Jack Montoucet.
Stefanski captured 54 percent of the vote, compared to fellow attorney Jay Suire's 46 percent.

Both candidates are Crowley natives, lawyers and conservatives. During the campaign, they both said they support small government and funding for educational programs, and that they believe in community service.
