Family member of well-known Acadiana architect visits local museum

LAFAYETTE, La. -

Leslie Hays Gladney, granddaughter of A. Hays Town, visited the Alexandre Mouton House, also know as the Lafayette Museum, today.

Born in 1903 in Crowley, A. Hays Town made a name for himself as a renowned architect in Acadiana with a career spanning 70 years. 

One of Hays' more well-known homes belonged to Oil Center developer Maurice Heymann, which was later gifted to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is incorporated into the the campus buildings. 

Leslie discussed her grandfather's career, which inspired the design of more than 500 homes.
